Just Who Are These Caricature Artists and What Do They Do?

In my experience, the word “caricature” is possibly the most difficult word in the English language for people to pronounce. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard folks pronounce it incorrectly as “charicture,” “character,”, or “charicature.” They tend to add or take away syllables and letters, possibly because they’re trying to combine “caricature” with “character” as they’re often associating the two words in their heads.

A caricature artist exaggerates the prominent features of the subject (nose, mouth, ears, chin, etc.) while maintaining visual information so the subject’s essence shines through and he or she is still recognizable. A great caricature will often capture more of your persona than a photograph. This is because it emphasizes the features which separate you from others. It’s common for caricaturists to draw the subject with a large head and small body to make the drawing even funnier.

When you choose Ronnie to be your caricature artist, you get an artist who strives to make each drawing strongly resemble the subject, while keeping it humorous in an non-insulting way.
